FIONA’S FIRST BIRTHDAY

My baby girl turned 1 on March 16 and the next day, we had a party for her. I used this as an opportunity to paper the place out! Everything was designed and assembled by me. Future party packs in the shop? Maybe. All the pictures were taken by the lovely and talented Laura Bute. Be sure to check out her website.

In case you weren’t sure, the theme was Owls and lollipops! We had a DIY photo booth which everyone really enjoyed. Overall, I think it was a great success! So much fun!

WISDOM TEETH AND A COUPON!

Ugh. I had my wisdom teeth out on Friday. Let’s just say I had been putting it off for 10 years. My face is puffy and on top of it, I caught a lovely cold over the weekend. I feel AWFUL! Oh well!

Because I’m feeling bad, I thought it would be fun to offer something nice and make everyone else feel better! Use this code “Noted15” and get 15% off anything in my sending notes section of my shop until May 1!

There are lot of fun things there like custom stationery and letterhead! Check it out!

PARTY PLANNING HELP!

So I’m probably going to be MIA this week in preparation for my daughter’s first birthday party! Can you believe it? I sure can’t. It doesn’t feel like a year has already passed by. Crazy.

I felt really overwhelmed when I started looking into her birthday party. For one, I want it to be special, but 2, I want it to be something I can use for my portfolio. Needless to say, there is LOTS of paper involved. Here is a link to my pinterest board so you can see how I got started: http://pinterest.com/chhcah/fiona-s-first-birthday-ideas/

Now, how to get organized? This helped me a ton so I really wanted to share it on my blog.   Go here: http://www.bridgettedwards.com/2011/09/13/lets-party-free-printable-birthday-party-checklist/ and download the printable!

After the party, I will be sure to post pics and maybe a diy how-to. We shall see!

HELLO 2012!

I’m a little late to the party! I’ve been reading around the blog-o-sphere all the New Years posts and was a little hesitant to do my own. This year was a year of change, ups and downs and figuring out who I am in all this change.

So what happened?

This sweet baby girl entered my life in March, two months after quitting my job and taking on the roles of full-time business owner and housewife. This has been the best decision of my life. Having a baby really shifts your priorities and as a business owner, it changes how you feel about work. I’m not going to deny, there have been days when I would rather play on the floor with my little one than design an invitation! It also is the biggest motivator. I want her to be proud of me and what I’ve created.

My goals for 2011 were simple: Build my business. I think I did that but honestly, not as much as I would have liked.

Here are my goals for 2012:
1.) Really and whole-heartedly renew my faith and follow God’s path for me. He is currently speaking big things to my heart and I’m praying for guidance.

2.) Update my etsy shop and build my online sales.

3.) Design a complete line and produce a wholesale album.

4.) Stop being shy and network more and more.

5.) Stop working at 5 everyday, take Fridays and weekends off.

I can’t wait to see what the new year has in store and I feel like it could be big big things!

VACATION

I was planning on waiting a few weeks to go on vacation but some bad stuff has come up. Due to several family emergencies, I will be on vacation indefinitely throughout December.

If you have a custom order I am currently working on, I will still be finishing that for you before the Christmas holiday. If you wish to place a custom order or need information on a custom order or an item from the shop, please contact me at info@carolinecreates.com.

Thank you!
